All That Remains
This is a generational story. While scouting for places to photograph, I noticed a this water pump sitting a dormant field. I snapped a few photos and moved on. Spring came and I noted that corn was planted. I sought out the owner and asked for permission to photograph. The farmer gave his permission and told me the story behind the pump. He is an elderly gentleman and the third generation farmer. His grandfather dug a well and built sheds in to raise hogs. His father continued to raise hogs. When the current farmer took over, the sheds were in disrepair and he decided to raze them an return the land to crop production. The water pump is all that remains.
